A Message from Barton Faulks Regarding
CHHS Theatre Department
Updated: Friday, March 27, 2020
Here is what we know at this point in time, as of Friday March 27 there will be no school and of course no CHHS Theatre activities through Friday, April 17. This means that there will be no rehearsals or practices any sooner than Saturday April 18. Jamie Greco and I have agreed that we should cancel the production of "Shipwrecked" as we will not have the access that is needed to put up this mainstage production with the limited time left in the school year. We think it will be best to focus on the end of the year activities such as the "Student Directed One Acts (or SOAP's) which are of course in the black box theatre and focus on the Theatre Banquet which is still planned for Friday May 8 at the Colleyville Center. At this time we plan on performances of the SOAPS to take place in mid May. Ms. Greco and I will be sending out student director applications and consider doing online auditions to get a head start before classes resume. I have already asked the cast and crew of "The White Rose" to continue practicing lines and their accents so that we will be ready for UIL One Act which is currently slated to resume on May 4, If the competition is canceled we still intend to have at least one public performance toward the end of April.
Please keep in mind that this schedule will be subject to change as the dates for these events draw closer. Again I ask that parents and students of the CHHS Theatre Department to stay happy and healthy during the next two weeks before classes are scheduled to resume. Please keep informed about the COVID19 virus and the guidelines announced by the CDC.
